Orlando, City of  theme parks

Orlando is the county seat of Orange and capital city of the region known as Central Florida, in the State of Florida. Orlando has a subtropical climate, perfect for visiting in the cold months.

Orlando has long been a rural area whose main economic activity was farming.

Today Orlando’s economy is related to the tourist industry, being the perfect city to enjoy its theme parks, and countless attractions available both day and night.

The most important event in Orlando’s economy occurred in 1965 when Walt Disney announced plans to build Walt Disney World. The famous theme park opened in October 1971, giving the city a major economic and population growth. As a result, tourism became the backbone of the economy of Orlando.
