Atlanta, the headquarters of The Coca-Cola Company

Atlanta is the capital of and the most populous city in the state of Georgia. Atlanta’s economy ranks fifteenth among world cities and sixth in the United States. Only New York and Houston boast more companies (ATT mobile, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Airlines, amongst others). Hence, Atlanta provides the ideal forum for company conventions or business meetings.

The city gained global popularity when it hosted the 1996 Olympic Games. Since then the city has been constantly growing and receiving new investments. The 21-acre Centennial Olympic Park was built to host the Olympic Games. You can cool down at the popular Fountain of Rings at the Olympic Park, attend concerts, visit the world’s largest indoor aquarium, and museums, such as “The World of Coca-Cola”.

Atlanta has played a key role in the history of African-American population and the civil rights movement. You can visit Martin Luther King’s home and the places where he advanced his ideas.

We will visit the area to the south of the city – old Atlanta, which is famed for its historical ambiance with its old colonial buildings. Here the locals strictly preserve traditions. In the suburbs, plantations and towns spring up by the side of the road and endow it with an almost ghostly atmosphere. This area boasts some of the most beautiful countryside in the United States – rivers which blend with spectacular vegetation in arid lands.

Countless activities await us in Atlanta. We will explore the city by bike, check out the hustle and bustle of Downtown, sophisticated Midtown, and the beautiful suburbs. We will enjoy the view of the city from the air during an exciting hot-air balloon tour, and stroll around the unusual mall area which is located under the streets in the center of Atlanta: Underground Atlanta.

Don’t miss the High Museum. This is the largest museum in the south of the USA. It forms part of the Woodruff Arts Center, which also houses the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Alliance Theater.

Similarly, the varied cuisine of Atlanta is not to be missed. This ranges from typical fast food from the south of the United States to major restaurants which serve exquisite international cuisine.
